Main Objectives

1- To carry out our own research projects, or to participate in external ones, ever priorizing the activities that have into their objectives the conservation of the aquatic environment, especially of the marine waters, and focusing its interest in the research and study of marine mammals.

2. To spread public awaraness about marine environment, translating the scientific data to a comprehensive level for the general public. We want to transfer knowledge about marine inhabitants and the threatens that are nowadays affecting them. We are especially interested in collaborate with the mass media, trough the creation of an specific image bank about marine mammals and aquatic ecosystems.

For the implementation of the designed projects, the Association EDMAKTUB employs a motor sailor fully equipped with modern technology for the purpose of research and education. The "GETAWAY MAKTUB" which was built in The Netherlands in 1962, is a two masts motored sailboat, a ketch of 50 feet.
